One of the main points of Scratch is to allow others to view your projects, download them and remix them. This guide explains how to share a project.

Only projects made in Scratch can be uploaded to the Scratch Website. Projects made in Scratch modifications can be uploaded to Mod Share, however, and some modifications provide their own sites to upload to.

TutorialEdit

To share a project in the 1.x series (1.2, 1.3, 1.4), open the project up in Scratch, click on "Share" and select "Share this project online..." or click the share icon. You will then have to give your Scratch username and password, along with a name for your project. Project notes are optional, but are most often added as well. You will also have the option to add tags, and compress the project.

Uploaded projects are available on the Scratch Website. Many are displayed on the Scratch homepage, while some are advertised in the Scratch Forums. Other projects are not advertised by their creators, but are still viewed anyway.

When viewing a project, one (if logged in) can add it to their favorites, place tags, add it to a gallery, or "love it". Comments can also be posted, allowing Scratchers to give their views on the project.

Projects are limited to 10 MB (10,240 KB); compressing is occasionally necessary to make a project upload. When the 2.0 website was introduced, the limit has been raised to 50 MB due to that the new files with vector graphics and a new method of compression were larger. More on the size limit can be found here.

EditingEdit

If a project has been shared, yet the owner wishes to change something about it, they can just edit the project and then re-upload it with the same name, and the old project will be replaced with the new one. It will have the same statistics as before.de:Ein Projekt hochladen (1.4)
